About This Event

Chi Sparks is the bi-yearly conference of Chi Nederland that aims to find the sparks in current Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) research and tries to bring them to the attention of a wider audience. The theme of this year's conference is 'HCI research, innovation and implementation'. The conference shall take place on 23 June 2011 in Arnhem at the site of the Hogeschool van Arnhem en Nijmegen (HAN).

With this edition, Chi Sparks emphasizes the contribution of good HCI research in realizing successful, innovative, products, systems or services for organizations or businesses.
These can be tangible products or (web-based) systems ranging from child toys to large scale industrial automation systems; applications that have a genuine impact on people's lives and work or society in general.

Bachelor and Master students, PhD-candidates, researchers, academics and professors can submit their contribution to the conference to submission@chi-sparks.nl, before the 18th of April 2011. We also invite businesses active in the area of HCI to contribute to the conference, in this way emphasizing the importance of HCI research in product development. At Chi Sparks theory and practice not only meet, but also augment each other.

Contributions can be in the format of full or short papers, posters, cases from practice in education or business. Additionally, interactive installations and demonstrations get the ability to step into the spotlight at Chi Sparks. All details on how to contribute can be found in the Call for Participation and the Submission Guidelines and Formats.
For all additional questions, do not hesitate to contact submission@chi-sparks.nl

All submissions will be evaluated by a team of carefully selected reviewers, supervised by the board of reviewers consisting of Dick Lenior, Janienke Sturm and Ingrid Mulder.

We look forward to your submissions and registrations!
