From September 4th to 10th 2007, Istanbul will again attract design fans from all over the world, hosting it's one and only Istanbul Design Week.
The creative circles have yet begun to discover Istanbul's cultural heritage and every step in Istanbul brings out an energy that triggers creativity. All these dynamics open the doors of being a design center and Istanbul Design Week serves as the international creative platform for the new millennium. The title deserved gets stronger as Istanbul is awarded 'Design City' by Wallpaper magazine, as a part of Design Awards 2007. As Wallpaper magazine explains; ""¦perhaps most impressive has been the emergence of a daring design scene."
With its century old past and a design object all by itself, the venue of Istanbul Design Week, Old Galata Bridge got back to life and became a part of the city's daily life once again. By using this historical structure, Istanbul Design Week differentiates from other design events in the world. Being the only event giving the possibility to exhibit 'on water' is only one of these distinctions. Besides the impressive main location, design will spread all over the city with three different focal points such as the Golden Horn basin, the historic peninsula and city spaces.
