SUMMARY:IxDA SF: Communicating Concepts with Comics
LOCATION:San Francisco\, California\, USA
DESCRIPTION:Venue:
\nCooper
\n100 First Street\, 26th Floor
\nSan Francisc
 o\, California 94105
\n
\n6:00 – Social Hour
\n7:00 – Presentation
\nFREE
 \n
\nIxDA San Francisco arrives with its first public talk in the city. For
the first event in our design tools series we present Kevin Cheng from Yah
 oo! Brickhouse and OK/Cancel (ok-cancel.com).
\n
\nOften\, wireframes\, req
uirements\, personas and other documents have yielded unsatisfactory result
s – that is\, when they are read at all. At Yahoo!\, Kevin Cheng has been e
xperimenting with using comics as a technique for communicating the core co
ncepts behind a design’s intended user experience.
\n
\nIn this presentatio
n\, Kevin will share how this technique has worked well to get teams inform
ed and on the same page\, without fixating on interface details too early i
n the project. He’ll demonstrate an in-depth walkthrough of his process and
the advantages he’s found using comics over other methods. Best of all\, y
ou won’t even need to take an art class to use this methodology.
\n
\n--
\n

\nPresented by Interaction Design Association and Cooper.
\n
\nIxDA has ot
her great events in the works\, but we’re always on the lookout for great s
peakers with great presentations. If you’re interested in speaking at a fut
ure event or have an idea for a future presentation\, please get in touch!
