SUMMARY:IIID Vision Plus 12
LOCATION:Schwarzenberg Vorarlberg, Austria
DESCRIPTION:The International Institute for Information Design (IIID) is pr
oud to announce Vision Plus 12, a multi-disciplinary international conferen
ce devoted to exploring one of the most critical issues facing communicator
s today: how to measure the impact of information-relevant communications.
This event, the twelfth in the Vision Plus series of symposia, will be held
July 5 - 7, 2007, in Schwarzenberg, located in the breathtakingly beautifu
l Bregenzerwald region, in Vorarlberg, Austria.
\n
\nThe Theme for Vision
 Plus 12
\n
\nEveryone agrees: design is the intermediary between informatio
n and understanding. But how can we demonstrate the truth of that propositi
on? How can we measure the impact and quantify the results? Vision Plus 12
will explore this controversial question from all sides:
\n•	How and to w
hat extent can we measure the success of a given work?
\n•	How do we quan
tify the role and impact of intangibles such as design?
\n•	What techniqu
es and technologies can be used to get measurable results?
\n•	How do inf
ormation designers build the necessary metrics into their projects?
\n•	W
hat are educators and researchers doing to tackle this challenge?
\n
\nThe
IIID welcomes proposals that shed light on any aspects of this theme.
\n
\nPlease note that there is also a Call for Speakers for this conference (D
eadline: 15 January 2007). For event details and proposal guidelines for Ca
ll for Speakers please go to www.iiid-visionplus.net.

SUMMARY:Call for Speakers "Expert Forum Infoconnectivity"
LOCATION:Vienna, Austria
DESCRIPTION:The International Institute for Information Design (IIID) in Vi
enna is organizing a top-notch event this year in connection with public tr
ansportation. The Expert Forum “Infoconnectivity - Intertwined information
for interconnected transport networks“. will focus on the effectiveness of
public transport and the time it takes to change between different modes of
transport. The quicker and the more efficient, the better for passengers,
tourists or staff, in short: for everyone. Down-time should be reduced to a
n absolute minimum. However, if this so-called “inter-connectivity” between
transport networks is to be enhanced, it is vital to focus on measures of
improving information-connectivity (infoconnectivity) between service provi
ders in the area of public transport.
\n
\nIIID is still looking for speake
rs who are willing, competent and eager to speak at this international desi
 gn event.
\n
\nFor details on the event (4/5 September 2008) and our "Call
