SUMMARY:Beyond Agile: Delivering Better Software, Faster
LOCATION:Virtual
DESCRIPTION:So often in the race to develop better software and get product
s to market quickly, we miss the point. Often product managers are caught
in the middle of a continual tug of war between design and development trad
e offs with competing priorities and artificial time lines. Finding the ri
ght balance can be tricky but the benefits are huge. This presentation wil
l help you avoid some of the most common mistakes in software development b
y highlighting proven strategies you can use to drive product enhancements
, lower development costs and accelerate your time to market. You will le
arn tips and tricks for leveraging user experience design together with Agi
le development best practices to break projects into small steps, create re
alistic time frames, meet deadlines, and deliver new features and releases
every few weeks while incorporating constant feedback and improvements. Th
ese techniques are based on real world experiences and are applicable at an
y stage in the development cycle.

  - – - – - – -
\nThroughout the electronic age, people have become accustom
ed to interacting with digital media indirectly, mediated through screens a
nd peripheral devices. But now, as digital technology becomes invisibly emb
edded in everyday things, the “feeling” of everyday things is also increasi
ngly becoming embedded in digital technology.
\n
\nIn many senses, physical
objects are becoming more important. In an immediate way, they can help us
define new systems of relationships with digital information. Luke William
s, Creative Director at frog design, examines how perceptions and gestures
formed through our experiences with physical products can effectively bring
liberty to the relationship between brain, body, and digital media interfa
 ce.
\n
\nWHEN
\nThursday, July 24th
\n6:15 – 7:00 networking (refreshments
